True North German Shepherd Rescue

We are proud to partner with True North GSD Rescue to assist with the rescue and the placement of German Shepherd Dogs in need. True North GSD Rescue is a volunteer and donation based, woman-owned, and Pacific Northwest local rescue.

From True North GSD- “We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run 100% by donations and volunteers who are brought together by their love and respect for German shepherds. We are all dedicated to the rescue and placement of German Shepherd Dogs in need. Our goal is to find and place every dog into a supportive and loving permanent home. Rescue is not just about taking dogs and finding homes. It is about doing the right thing, for the dog – for the human. It’s about listening to your heart and following cold trails of information.    It’s about doing the right thing, always.”

Bolder K9

We have partnered with Bolder K9 to provide high-quality leashes, tugs, safeties and all BioThane equipment to our clients. The quality and attention to detail of their products hands down are amazing and thoroughly tested to ensure that your equipment does not fail.

Additionally, NW K9 Obedience is proud to support Bolder K9 and their mission. From Bolder K9-

Bolder K9 started after Theo, our puppy/shark, chewed through his very expensive BioThane leash. Instead of replacing it, we learned how to make our own.

We continued to make leashes exclusively for True North GSD Rescue, the PNW-based German Shepherd rescue we’ve volunteered with, fostered for, and adopted all of our dogs from. These leashes were given to fosters/volunteers as thank you gifts and to adopters for adopting dogs from the rescue. Then their friends and family wanted their own too, so we began making more.

Since the roots of Bolder K9 started with True North GSD Rescue, we’ve made it our mission to donate all proceeds back to the rescue.

But we haven’t stopped just there. We regularly look for other ways to engage and support our community and other nonprofit organizations through gear donations and fundraising opportunities.”

Tested and approved equipment – Work in progress would like a page dedicated to this.

Forgotten Brotherhood MC

The Forgotten Brotherhood Motorcycle Club is a traditional law-abiding Motorcycle Club located in the great Pacific Northwest. They ride American motorcycles and claim no territory. They are a brotherhood of Veterans and like-minded Patriots, dedicated to serving the Veteran population and the communities in which they live. They promote comradery among Brothers and their families, and ensure no brother fights alone, no matter what that battle may be.

Here at NW K9 Obedience, we have partnered with the Forgotten Brotherhood MC for a cause that is close to all of our hearts, helping Veterans. In In coordination with the Forgotten Brotherhood MC and Bolder K9, we have founded a new mission; to provide service dogs to Veterans in need at no cost to the Veterans.

We will focus on an area that has traditionally lacked when Veterans receive Service Dogs and that is the Veteran will own the K9. As well as we will focus on the development of the Veteran and their K9 as a team rather than having little training for the end user on how to keep up care and training for their new partner.

Forgotten Dogs 4 vets

Forgotten Dogs 4 Forgotten Vets is a nonprofit organization.

The Mission to provide any disabled honorably discharged veteran of the United States Armed Forces with a professionally trained service dog to assist that veteran with their disabilities while helping rehome dogs from local shelters and rescues.

Every service dog costs between $1500-2500 to select train and pair with a Veteran in need. Their goal is to train 20 dogs this year with the support of our partners and sponsors. The average waiting time to receive a service dog is 1-3 years and they want to bridge that gap and train the veteran along with their service dog.
